Eyes on Earth
Observation of the Earth System from Space
Special exhibition, 10 June 2013 to 23 February 2014
Only few people have the opportunity to travel into space. However, satellite images capture the diversity and vivid colors of the Earth, providing us with the chance to enjoy the beauty of our planet from above.
But satellite images are not only of aesthetic interest. Research institutes, authorities and companies use images and data recorded by satellites as a vital part of early warning systems for natural hazards, to forecast the weather, to understand ocean currents, detect resources, track climate change and to investigate currents in the Earth's interior. These are just some of a wide range of possible applications.
The special exhibition "Eyes on Earth" by the Research and Development Program "Geotechnologien" on display at focusTerra. It provides fascinating insight into methods and findings of satellite remote sensing.
Join us in orbit and open your eyes to the wonders of the Earth from space!
