Meet a scientist – Interviews with scientists

During a visit to focusTerra, pupils are guided through the exhibition and are able to meet and interview a scientist about a certain topic.

About the booking

  • This programme must be requested at least 6 weeks in advance. Please provide at least three alternative dates (if possible on different weekdays and times of the day) when booking “Meet a scientist”.
  • Please also add which language you prefer, since, depending on the topic, both English and German speaking scientists are available.

Procedure

During the visit to focusTerra, the class is divided into two groups. In the first hour, one half is guided through the exhibition, while the other is attended to by the scientist and conducts the interview. After a short break, groups are swapped for the second hour.

The interview for the scientist has to be prepared and submitted to focusTerra prior to the visit. The questions should be different for each half of the class. The knowledge acquired during the different encounters can be exchanged during a follow-up lesson in the classroom.
