Photo competition KEEP IT CO₂OL
In the run-up to the planned exhibition “KEEP IT CO2OL”, focusTerra is organising a photo competition in which pictures can be submitted that show, for example, the beauty of nature, visible effects of climate change or possible climate protection measures.
Great images may inspire, educate, and drive measures for the protection of our planet.
In the run-up to the special exhibition “KEEP IT CO2OL”, which will open in spring 2025, focusTerra launched a photo competition in May 2024, which will run until mid-November 2024.
Photos can be submitted that show, for example, the beauty of nature, life and goods worth protecting, visible effects of climate change in Switzerland or possible climate protection measures.

Cross-country skiing to the Volg: " In winter, I love going to the mountains with my siblings. Our highlight is to go shopping with our grandparents' cross-country skis. With the warmer winters, this will soon no longer be possible and our family tradition will be lost. That's why climate protection is particularly important to me." Isa, 26, Sils -
Wine from home! " Wine is part of Switzerland's cultural heritage. In Valais, people started cultivating vineyards 2500 years ago! But climate change, with more frequent extreme weather events and increased susceptibility to pests, poses an increasing threat to the grapes. Tomatoes from the home garden: " I grow flowers, tasty vegetables, fruit and herbs in my garden. My garden helps the climate because I buy less imported food by growing my own. Climate protection is particularly important to me because I want to leave a healthy planet to my children and grandchildren."

Bike? Oh yeah! " I want to protect the climate because we have already destroyed so much of the planet. Cars and planes contribute massively to climate change with their CO2 emissions. That's why I'm generally commuting by bike. I also think that Zurich should definitely become even more bike-friendly!" Sara, 17, Zürich
There are “CO2OL” and sustainable prizes to be won – from ice cream vouchers and vegan cookbooks to free guided tours. The winning photos will also be featured in the “KEEP IT CO2OL” exhibition advertising campaign.
Photo competition in the classroom
Especially for teachers, focusTerra has prepared a teaching pack with a short interactive presentation to kickstart discussions on CO2 and climate change.
With the photo competition, focusTerra is calling on the public to help document the changes caused by climate change in Switzerland and shows how people are taking action.
